After a weekend you feel like a new person. You are so close to the real world but feel so far away that nothing bothers you. Not too far from PTA. Fishing. Hiking. a place that allowed dogs. Kingfisher ticked all these boxes and more. The grounds a beautifully kept. The units are very basic in terms of interiors but perfect considering the type of spot it is and fact dogs and kids are allowed. There was a well stocked little shop. A restaurant and bar on site. The hike to the waterfall was lovely and we loved the gorgeous waterfall. Manicured lawns, Cottages with an amazing view, Waterfall within walking distance and plenty of trout dams. Pet friendly. Our dogs had so much fun. The location is amazing with so much to do. Everything is very well maintained and clean. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The walk to the bottom of the waterfall was our favorite. We had such a lovely stay at The Kingfisher Country Cottage & Trout Lodge, on arrival we were greeted by Gary & Cat on arrival. We received a complimentary glass of sherry and given a tour of the grounds. We only stayed for a, but we had an amazing time. We had a delicious breakfast the following morning. Compliments to Cat and staff for providing us with such amazing food. Gary, thanks for the tip on swimming at the waterfall. Many thanks to Gary and Cat for their hospitality and friendly chats. Would definitely recommend The Kingfisher Country Cottage & Trout Lodge to fellow travellers! We will visit soon again.

Thank you for coming out to assist us at night with a broken down vehicle, you are proof that there are still good people out there👏 The lodge is well maintained, peaceful and absolutely beautiful...so tranquil and with good hospitality.. nothing more is needed 🙂 Thank you Hennie, Gary, and the rest of the team! Deon Desiree de Bod9 February 2023Ons het einde Februarie 2023 vir n naweek daar gekamp met ons tent. Dit was n wonderlike ervaring met n veruklikke mooi rustige omgewing. Alles wat mens nodig het is daar en die restaurant is uitstekend. Die personeel is almal baie vriendelik en Hennie en Michelle ( die bestuurders) gaan uit hul pad om dit aangenaam te maak. Andre is n groot aanwins tot die oord. Die sondag namiddag het daar n verwoeste donderstorm uitgebreek met bome wat ontwortel is. Gary, die eienaar, het kom aanbied dat ons liewer in een van die chalets gaan oornag as om in die tent te wees. Hulle het ons gratis die nag daar gehuisves. Andre Truter19 December 2022What a wonderful spot indeed. Came here 20odd years ago and it has lost none of its charm and beauty even as it has been developed into a more family friendly location. Gary is an amazing host and really makes his guests feel welcome in a truly relaxing atmosphere. The trout fishing dams are spectacular and we had a lot of fun learning how to fly fish. Would honestly rate this as one of the best spots we’ve ever holidayed at with the most amazing views. Chalets are clean and neat and are also very spacious for the family units. The restaurant and bar are self service with an honesty system that is very convenient. Will for sure be coming back to this little gem tucked away in the Mpumalanga mountains. PS: best ever is that we had zero load shedding in 4 days!! What a bonus.
